Design changes
I’m gradually messing with the freedom that Tumblr allows its users in editing their tumblog templates. I don’t have a ton of time to work on a complete overhaul, so I’m experimenting with things little by little. Bear with me.

The Worst Addiction of Them All →
A short essay by Kurt Vonnegut originally published December 31, 1983 in The Nation and later collected in the out of print Nothing is Lost Save Honor.
I’ve spent the last couple days periodically watching the Steven Fishman Deposition (part 1 posted above). The whole thing is terribly interesting from an anthropological viewpoint, especially considering that leading Scientologists’ e-meters proved Fishman to be the father of Jesus Christ. I’d point you toward a comprehensive website on Fishman or Scientology, but I honestly...

Roy Scheider, Actor in ‘Jaws,’ Dies at 75 →
Sad news for the movie world and an interesting headline from The New York Times. Although the article does allude to Scheider’s other great roles (namely in The French Connection and Cronenberg’s Naked Lunch), there’s something a bit odd about expressing one man’s life achievements via his role in Jaws.
Polaroid Technology Fades Out →
timhackbarth:
I have never used a Polaroid but the concept of one seems nice.
This is sort of sad news. You would think in a world where so many people demand instant gratification, something like the Polaroid camera would be in high demand.
Movie weekend
I spent most of the weekend watching movies and playing around with instruments around my apartment. Thursday night I went to Sushi Wabi on Randolph St. with a friend of mine. It was delicious. We indulged ourselves with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and had the best saki-soaked salmon nigiri I’ve ever tasted.
After several drinks we finished off the night by watching the first half of...
